The time of the month can be a bear for woman each month. There might be too much blood, too much pain, or even indigestion during a woman’s menstrual cycle each month. What are the causes and what can be done about this?
In my practice I see menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) quite often. There are typically 3 main causes for this that I have run into in my practice. The success rate for woman that I have treated with painful menstrual cycles or excess bleeding has been well over 90%. There is hope!
PHYSICAL PROBLEM
I have had women who have had serve menstrual pain for decades, and after fixing one little bone it has all but disappeared. What often happens is the tail bone is pushed forward (usually from sports or falling on your butt). This causes the muscles underneath the uterus to sag. In which case the uterus itself sags and causes severe pain during the time of the month. In addition to this I have run into many women with a uterus that has fallen forward (prolapsed). The physical position of the uterus has to be physically put back in place.
ENDOMENTRIOSIS
With endometriosis there is chronic inflammation in the uterus. This may cause the tissue to change shape and become a precursor to uterine cancer. In my office we can check for this without being invasive. Typically, 4 capsules of chlorophyll a day is enough to reverse this condition.
AUTO-IMMUNE
The third common cause I run into is autoimmune. In this case the immune system confuses the uterus with a foreign invader and attacks it. This can be tested for in the office and treated with a Standard Process product called Utrophin PMG.
